Hello & Namaste

I have always wondered, what would I write if I had to write my first blog? Should I write about my strong belief in science, the power it has in creating an exciting future? Maybe I should share the sense of pride and duty that my school songs have instilled in me? I should probably capture readers’ attention by writing about movies, sports or holidays. As these thoughts crossed my mind, I realized we connect with each other mostly through a common sense of achievement or purpose.

Everyday I am fascinated by the positive energy with which people do things. Whether it is working on creating a new world in space, like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are doing, or Aditya Rao and his friends composing their Indian classical version of Ed Sheeran’s hit song “Shape of You”.

At the other end of the spectrum, it is uplifting to see the positivity with which the poor in India go about their lives, to see how mobile technology has empowered them. On a visit to a school for blind children in my home city Hyderabad, we saw children walk around and participate in their daily life with energy and ease. These observations re-iterate “Superman” Christopher Reeve’s famous quote,“Once you choose Hope, anything is possible”.

Whenever we visit a new country, we browse a local super market and bookshop. What people buy for their homes, the local brands, and the literature they read gives us an insight into their culture. We find cab drivers usually have an interesting take on their government. We also try out a local Indian restaurant, listen to the owners share their anecdotes. It is heartwarming to see how they settle into a new culture.

Every culture has stories, whether religious or mythological, that have been passed down from one generation to the other. We feel the wisdom they convey is timeless. We hope to convey these stories to you in a contemporary manner.
